Members of the Club assist in collecting money for the annual Red Shield Appeal.
The Red Shield Appeal is one of Australia’s most respected charity events. Every year, members of the Club assist the local Salvation Army with door knocking. Monies raised assists the Salvos with their much needed community work.
The Club regularly supports the important work of Ronald McDonald House which provides accommodation for families where a child needs medical attention far from home.
Located in the grounds of John Hunter Children’s Hospital Newcastle, the house helps families overcome the stresses associated with a child’s illness in a comfortable, homelike environment.
Quick response times are critical in the care of premature babies.
The Club has donated monies to the Neonatal intensive care ward. Such monies have helped purchase essential items needed to provide effective treatment for babies born prematurely or needing specialised care. The unit provides emergency support to much of Northern NSW
The Club is very proud of the help it has been able to give to this cause and is most impressed by the efforts of the dedicated and professional staff.
Shelter Box provides immediate support for people affected by natural and manmade disasters.
Shelter Box Australia responds instantly to natural and manmade disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need.
Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
The Club maintains a Shelter Box and has recently purchased a new Shelter Box with the last box having been sent to Indonesia.
